video: modo

I drive by Modo nearly every day, and fawn over their beautiful dresses in the window display. Today I finally ventured in to discover what it is all about, and am pleased to discover that it is a wonderful designer resale and consignment shop. Modo carries a fine array of newly-affordable garments by normally expensive brands such as Nanette Lepore, Vera Wang, and Calypso. There is even a gorgeous mango colored print top by Marc Jacobs for only $45!

Their denim is organized by size, rather than awful stacks of mystery denim, where you have to dig and flip tags around for five minutes only to find that they don’t even have your size. Notable denim at Modo includes Paige Premium Denim, J Brand, Earnest Sewn, and Cheap Monday.

I love that much of the jewelry is by local designers, and is also literally framed on the wall throughout. The floor and shelves are strewn with beautiful shoes of towering heights as well as the flattest of flats, and there is one pair of sable boots around the back that I have my eye on. At the moment, there are THREE bags around $200 by Francesco Biasia, one of my favorite Italian handbag designers. I drool and swoon. I love that Modo also has all of their items in the store available for purchase online, so you can buy it later if you can’t make up your mind in the shop. Because it is consignment, each garment is unique, and the contents of the shop are constantly rotating. So if you see something you like, buy it fast, or it might disappear!

  1. Hi Lily!
My sister is one of the owners of Modo, so I may be a tad biased, but I think you did a great job explaining the store! They really do have great stuff!

    Love your blog!
